Today in class we studied the si passivante and si impersonale, which are verb forms used in English for sentences like, “One does not just walk into Mordor” or “When in Italy, one eats well”. Unless you’re a Victorian fantasy novelist or a travel brochure writer, the forms aren’t much used. I hope we move on to something else tomorrow.
It has been raining off and on all week, but today it rained almost constantly. It varied in intensity but you would get definitely wet.
I booked a pedicure at a day spa called The Parlour. It has the best view of any spa I have been in as the windows look onto the Arno river.

I also got a lower leg massage. I was there for three very relaxing hours.

Pedicure in Italian is pedicure and massage is massaggio. Did not expand my vocabulary but was able to talk with the aestheticians in Italian.
I spent the evening doing homework, trying out some painting and watching Italian tv. It was not a night for venturing outside.
