January 1–New Years Day

No one arose early–surprise!

From there we walked to the nearby Shosei-en Garden, a zen garden.

We then walked on towards a temple that has the biggest bell in Japan. We encountered another shrine:

Sidney bought some charms at the shrine and we moved on walking along the river.

This shrine was very busy.

When we got to the temple, it was closed.
