The predicted rain for the past few days finally happened. About noon, it started pouring rain. More than one person has said it rains at Easter here. We figured it was a good day for a museum visit. The umbrellas got used.
We went to the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum. The collection was in private hands, Baron Thyssen-Bornemisza, until 20 years ago when his Spanish wife convinced him to cede the collection to Spain. The collection was second only to the British Royal family’s private collection.
We started by looking at the temporary exhibition about Chagall. It included a lot of private collection works which were very interesting, like illustrated books of fables and the Bible.
We had lunch at the museum:

After 3 1/2 hours, we headed back out into the rain. The Neptune fountain in the Plaza Canovas del Castilles just outside the museum.
