We went for dinner at Jamie’s Italian, a chain of about 10 or so Jamie Oliver restaurants, which aim for casual, simple Italian dishes at a reasonable price. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations so we just walked a short distance from our hotel and were able to get right in.
We split an appetizer of squid then had spaghetti vongole and bucatini carbonara with a side rocket and radicchio salad. Scott thought his pasta was too substantial for the sauce but we found both dishes tasty, but not outstanding. They were pretty much what this restaurant advertises itself as serving.
On the other hand, the panna cotta with blackberries was one of the best either of us have ever had.
