We walked the short distance to the Book of Kells at Trinity College.

Not even half way there it started pouring rain, again. But we persevered and of course, the sun came out.

Went through the main entrance to Trinity College

No photos allowed of the actual Book.
After looking at the Book of Kells you can see the Long Room, an 18th century library that is part of Trinity College.

A mediaeval Irish harp

There is a second part to the Book of Kells ticket, called the Book of Kells Experience, which involved immersive video animatations explaining the history of the Book and the Long Room.

No photos allowed. Below a building nearby.

From there we went to the National Gallery of Ireland. There was an automated lawn mower.

Two different people gave us directions for the shortest way to get to the National Gallery. The Irish seem to like to chat to everyone. With that assistance we easily found the side entrance.

After a lunch in the Gallery Cafe, we looked at parts of the gallery.

We did some sketching amidst the many school groups going through the Gallery..
The main entrance to the National Gallery. Rain was threatening again.

After taking the photo, we returned to the Gallery shop to wait out the rain; then walked a bit to look for a restaurant for dinner. Ended up at the Harbourmaster’s Restaurant.

Cute location but average food.
