The sun came out today after a week of grey skies. The Arno river has changed colour.

I had signed up for a painting activity in the afternoon but it was cancelled because not enough people signed up. Instead, I went to the Oblate library and sat in the cafe with a coffee and my sketchbook.

The library is quite extensive as I discovered wandering around and there are a number of courtyards.

Added some watercolour to my sketch later.

Our group activity for the evening was a trip to the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino to hear a concert featuring Liszt and Bartók.

The concert hall is large and quite modern having been built post-2000. The orchestra was also large in order to play the Liszt and Bartók.

Haven’t listened to live classical music since we went to YoYo Ma in June. It was a pleasure.
