Soaking up more heat

Our last two days were mostly hanging by the beach near our room. This resort is big. We have not taken the shuttle bus to other parts of the resort to try other pools or even the restaurants which require more than 5 minutes walking.

We parked ourselves on most mornings at the adults only beach which is just outside the door of our ground floor room.

One morning we took the shuttle bus/elongated golf cart to the lobby to confirm our transfer back to the airport then walked over 15 minutes to return to our room.

We passed the children’s play area that includes a donkey and cow.

The two animals share the penned area but it looks lonely. I like to think they enjoy the human visitors.

The room wi-fi is weak so one morning I sat by the pool to watch a live talk by the co-curator of the exhibition on 14th century Siena painting about to open at the National Gallery in London.

Too bad I won’t be going to Europe before the exhibition closes. It looks amazing.

I deposited three books I read in one of the bars that has a little library.

There’s a snack bar by the beach where we’ve been sitting which has decent fish for lunch but for a change, we went to the casual Mexican snack bar for tacos, although burritos seemed to be the more popular choice for those around us.

It’s next to the stage as well as the spa. We got deep muscle massages on our last day—felt like we needed to work out all the stiff muscles. Then back to the pool for the late afternoon.

We have had more agutÍ sightings:

There have been birds we can’t identify or photograph. We also have no photos of sitting outside at night and marvelling at the night sky. The planetary display is particularly good right now but the sharp quality of the light in the night sky is noticeably better than Calgary’s light polluted sky.
