Decimo giorno: last day of school and more cooking

You may have noticed that in the title of these posts I’m using Italian ordinals to count the days of this vacation. I’m good at counting from first to fifth but then not sure. Going past tenth is where I really need to reinforce my memory of the ordinal numbers in Italian.

This tenth day, sadly is also the last day of my language school. I enrolled mainly as a useful way to get over jet lag while also learning Italian and learning some art history. But I have to commend this school’s program in creating activities which promote comraderie. It has been interesting to get to know the other students.

My certificate:

My last activity was a cooking class. Before that I did some packing and watching webinars.

For this last cooking class we made a green bean souffle with cheese sauce, tagliatelle pasta with a bianco Chianina beef sauce (bianco means no tomato), braised chicken with vegetables and il Diplomatico a Senese, which is a bit like a mille feuille made with a pastry cream and an ancient liqueur that is spiced and bitter, like Campari but less sweet and quite a mix of spices in the aroma.
