Roma: day 19: New Year’s Eve

Started the morning going back to Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza.

Bought some fruit at Campo de’Fiori and then to lunch.

Seafood salad

Then a walk around the Jewish Ghetto area.

It was raining off and on so the photo taking was limited.

Stolpersteine or pietri d’inciampo or stumble stones are memorials to victims of the Holocaust. They are a project started by German artist Gunter Demnig which mark where a person lived, where they were deported to and how and when they died or in rare cases, survived the Holocaust. They are also a moment to bow down and reflect.

Our New Year’s Eve dinner was at Osteria Giulia where the set menu lasted five hours taking us into the new year.
