Roma: day 18: Vatican tour

We booked an early morning tour of the Vatican and St Peter’s through Context Travel.

Some coffee and background from our docent, Alessia.

We started in the Pinacoteca which gave a quick overview of Italian art history.

Despite the early access, there was still a crowd.

A quick bite of pizza where Scott joined us.

A nice stroll back to the apartment for some to nap and do laundry.

I went to Sant’Agostino to see the Caravaggio Madonna dei Pellegrini.

Dinner was at Achilli al Parlamento where Scott and I ate in 2018 but it has since gone upscale. We opted for the three course tasting menu with a possibility of dessert.
