December 29–Mt Fuji sighting and Shimokitazawa

We walked to Mori Tower in Roppongi to see the Mori Art Museum and look at Toyko from the observation deck.

The sculpture is called Maman Spider by Louise Bourgeois. There’s a similar one in Ottawa and Bilbao, Spain.

We then looked at the art museum:

 
 

The exhibition was called Out of Doubt reflecting recent reaction to Fukushima and the financial crisis.

 

We then trained to Shimokitazawa to meet friends of friends for dinner. The area is in southwestern Tokyo known as a hipster area.
