Convention in Vancouver

Scott was at a convention. I was enjoying Vancouver for a weekend. It was grey but the weather was milder than Calgary’s.
Our room in the Pan Pacific over looked the harbour.

Dinner at Bistro Sakana with the Millers.

Friday, while Scott was in his conference, I went to Burnaby on the skytrain to see the Japanese Canadian heritage museum, Nikkei Museum.

Nice gardens outside the museum.

Exhibit about the history of Japanese Canadians

Back in downtown Vancouver, I looked at the Art Gallery of Vancouver.

Walked around the waterfront near Pan Pacific Hotel where we were staying.

So many high rise condos.
Sat outside on the patio at Cactus Club Cafe before dinner. Joined Scott’s conference for dinner.

Saturday morning I did some more walking while Scott was in his conference.

Gastown is getting very touristy although it wasn’t too crowded at 10 am.
Went for lunch at Miku:

sparkling sake
more sake

Walked off the sushi and sake around Stanley Park and English Bay:

Had dinner at Tableau Bistro:

Sunday morning was spent watching English premiership match between Manchester United and Arsenal. Scott’s team, Arsenal lost.

Went for lunch at Joe Fortes where we had hoped to have Dungeness crab but they didn’t have any. Sunday’s disappointments were adding up.

But we enjoyed some white wine and king crab.

Then it was back to Calgary and snow.
