This is my spot in the studio.

I’m near one of the many tiny balconies opening into the inner courtyard.

Started the day with more perspective work to warm up.

Then sketching the Ponte Vecchio from a photo.

After sketching in pencil, I decided to try some watercolour. I didn’t finish but the advantage of the studio is I can continue tomorrow.

A wider view of my space. There are 6 of us in this studio room. Some rooms have 2 or 4 people.

As the predicted rain did not appear, after school, I went on further gelato hunting.
Vestri is mainly a chocolate store with chocolate produced from Caribbean cocoa but they also have gelato. Their fondente and nocciola have to go among the top of my list. I’ll have to return to check out the chocolates as well.

At the end of Vestri’s block is a fresh fruit and vegetable stand. I bought pomodori called Fiorentini, which I have found to be a tasty variety and some rucola.

Roberta, the manager where I’m staying, invited me to stop by again for some wine. While I was enjoying wine and accompanying bites of food, Wayne Stoner, stopped by to visit Roberta. He is an artist based in Washington State and was part of an exhibition here in Florence. Roberta had to leave to check in new arrivals so I had a nice chat with Wayne about art, studying art and Florence. When Roberta returned, she poured me more wine and brought me another plate of food. By the time I left the two of them to visit alone, I was very full.
