Week two of Accademia del Giglio.
This time the course I’m taking is called Cityscape and Architecture. The first day was in the studio which was good for staying dry but not great for getting in a lot of steps. The Accademia has at least 7 little rooms of people working in different paints or like me, drawing. There is also a sculpting room but it was empty. Walking around the small tight space does not provide a lot of exercise.

My morning was spent working on different perspective exercises. It was the first time I have used an easel. By the end of the day, my arm felt the effort of keeping it elevated.

At least half of the other students were young, mostly women, being instructed in English. But one man was getting instructed in French and at least two people were being instructed in Italian. Two people have been speaking Spanish with each other but being instructed in English. English is not the madre lingua of the woman nearest to me but she was being instructed in English. A young man on the other side of me speaks English with a Germanic accent. Lots of British and Australian accents. It is quite an international group of students.
The afternoon assignment brought the different perspective exercises together by trying to reproduce this:

Got some proportions wrong but at least I finished.

It poured rain for a while in the afternoon so it was a comfortable 23 in the early evening.
Went to Francesco Vini for dinner, where I’ve been twice before as it is close and the food is very good.
