Even with sleeping pills, I maybe got 6 hours of sleep. Luckily I had no major plans for the day.

Instead I met with someone from Greether, a group that promotes safe solo travel for women. For a small fee, you can meet with a vetted female who will meet with another solo female to guide and give advice on a place where they are travelling.

We looked at the Sant’Ambrogio market which I’ve long wanted to visit.

There’s also an outdoor fruit and vegetable area.

We then visited the rose garden in the Oltrano area.

Along the way we noted good places for food, drink or other shopping. Then back across the Arno river to a rooftop called View on Art with great views of the Cathedral complex.

For the rest of the afternoon, I perused the Feltrinelli bookstore, looked for a straw hat with a wide brim and had a gelato.
