Zurich is Switzerland’s business centre and its airport is large. And modern.

We landed over 10 minutes late waiting for a gate but I still had hours to wait for my flight to Firenze (Florence).

With no indication which gate I needed, I went looking for caffeine.

The flight to Firenze was delayed and the waiting area was less comfortable than other parts of the airport. The smell of cigarettes leaking from the smoking room didn’t help to make an easy wait.

They weighed my luggage! Almost every person with roller bags was over the 8 kg limit. I and many others were forced to check our bags to Florence.
