This was a pretty mundane day.
We did a lot of laundry since the apartment has a washer and dryer. We stayed in this apartment building last year because it is close to our daughter and her partner. The view from this current apartment looks west.

The Ottawa River and Gatineau Hills can be seen in the background of the above photo but we do not see the downtown area so the view is not very interesting.
We then went to a downtown shopping mall, Rideau Centre, where Scott bought a sweater for the upcoming cooler weather and an umbrella to replace the one he left in a London restaurant. I got a merino T-shirt also in anticipation of the cooler weather (although I really did not need it). We also shopped for tissues, contact lens solutions, dish liquid and other essentials which we need for the apartment or because we have used up what we initially packed.
Rideau Centre has the same stores as any of the big malls in Calgary. We definitely felt the non-European vibe. We also went to a pet store for a dog toy and treats for Nellie, Allie and Carmen’s Bernadoodle. Scott picked out a hedgehog toy which he named Bill.
From there, we went to Restaurant Forty-one in the Lord Elgin Hotel. Got a view of the Parliament buildings:

And the war memorial:

Scott had fish and chips, I had a fish burger, both too ordinary to remember to photograph.
From there we went to a day spa where Scott got a relaxation massage and I got a pedicure. We had pizzas with Allie and Carmen for dinner, and called it an early night as we were feeling jet lagged.
