Of course, the morning we were to leave, the sun came out.

Some of us don’t want to leave Italy.

In an excess of caution, I booked us on a 10 am train to Milano. The fast Frecciarossa train takes a little over an hour.

From Milano Centrale, we needed to get to Milano Linate airport. Google maps said the car drive takes 10 minutes. Actually, because of traffic, it was more like 25 minutes despite the fact that our female taxi driver was very aggressive on the road.

Security was relatively fast—much faster than when I landed. So by 12:30 we had nothing to do but wait for our 3:15 flight. At least we had lounge access which increased napping possibilities in comfy seats.

Waiting time increased because the flight left over 15 minutes late.

Above, the bus to the plane. Despite leaving late, we arrived on time.

We landed at London City Airport so the drive into the centre was much quicker than the drive from Heathrow especially since it was rush hour.

We got to our hotel which faces Trafalgar Square. We sorted out our room reservations. I somehow failed to make a reservation for our full stay and had to make a second reservation. I needed to ensure we had the same room through out. We were upgraded to a large suite.

After getting into our room, we had an aperitif in the rooftop bar.

We successfully navigated our way to dinner at a Japanese restaurant.

Sushi was a change of pace from eating in Italy. I forgot to take any photos of the food.
